Policy Guides Green Transition; Industry Conferences Discuss High-Quality Development of Magnesium-Based Refractory Materials

Recently, China's magnesium-based refractory materials industry has embraced dual opportunities from policy support and industrial exchanges, with green manufacturing and high-quality development emerging as the core themes of the industry. The Standards for the Refractory Industry (2025 Edition) released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) clearly stipulates that magnesia production lines with an annual capacity of less than 40,000 tons will be mandatorily phased out, and the limit value of comprehensive energy consumption per unit product will be reduced by 12%. This policy will accelerate the optimization of industrial capacity, drive enterprises to transform toward energy conservation, emission reduction, and circular economy, and compel technological innovation and industrial upgrading.

 

To promote industry exchanges and cooperation, a series of important conferences in the refractory materials field will be held in September 2025. From September 9 to 11, the China International Metallurgical Materials Expo will be held in Tangshan; from September 16 to 18, the 18th National Academic Conference on the Unshaped Refractory Industry will take place in Kunming; from September 17 to 19, the Anshan Magnesite Industry High-Quality Development Conference will be held in Haicheng; and from September 22 to 24, the 12th China International Magnesium-Based Materials Expo will be hosted in Dashiqiao, Yingkou. These conferences will gather industry experts and enterprise representatives to conduct in-depth discussions on topics such as technological innovation, market trends, and green transition, injecting new ideas and momentum into the development of the industry.
